When Michael Saunders & Company set its sights on Wellen Park, serving Venice and North Port, Florida, the goal was clear: to create an office that reflects the energy of a growing community while delivering the elevated experience the brand is known for.
“We’re excited to be part of the vibrant Wellen Park community,” shared Founder & CEO Michael Saunders during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “The new office is designed to feel welcoming while supporting the collaborative rhythm of our team.”
When I approached this project, my goal was to bring hospitality-inspired interior design into a commercial setting – creating a refined, resort-style experience that feels both personal and highly functional. As a Sarasota Interior Designer, I often draw from hospitality environments in my residential work, where every detail is intentionally designed to guide how your home feels, functions, and flows.

Designing for Speed Without Sacrificing Quality

The timeline was fixed. The goal was to open while seasonal residents were still in the area, which meant every selection had to be available with installation tightly coordinated. The challenge was to bring personality and polish without slowing the process.
Many homeowners face this same dynamic. Whether working within a builder package or bringing a designer in mid-project, the priority is a home that feels like you without adding delays, costly revisions, or unnecessary stress.
Layering Personality Within a Defined Framework
Joining a project already in motion is common in both residential and commercial projects. In this case, the architectural plan and core selections were already in place.
The focus was thoughtful adjustments that elevate the experience through material choices and layered details, adding warmth and personality.
There’s more opportunity when your designer is involved earlier in the process. Brought in before walls, lighting, and fixtures are finalized, design decisions can shape the flow and function from the start.
In the Wellen Park office, that balance played out by evaluating what was established and introducing strategic elements to enhance the client experience.
A ceiling tile application in the conference room added dimension, but was new for both the contractor and me. When unfamiliar materials are introduced, success depends on clear documentation and problem-solving in the field. That’s often where projects shift from standard outcomes to more distinctive, personalized design.

The final layout blends private offices, workstations, and standing-height touchdown workstations near key equipment. These in-between zones support quick conversations and short tasks, similar to the multifunctional areas in your home that need to adapt to daily routines.
Success relied on open communication. Through regular site visits and ongoing coordination with the contractor and team, decisions were made quickly as field conditions and delivery timelines shifted.
A strong process keeps a project moving without compromising intent. I see my role as part of the team—advocating for my clients and design while ensuring every decision supports both function and long-term use.
How a Sarasota Interior Designer Supports Daily Life Through Design
Today, the Michael Saunders & Company Wellen Park office in Venice, Florida, is home to a growing group of realtors working in a collaborative environment designed to support client service at every level.

“As realtors, our environment directly impacts how we show up for our clients,” shared award-winning realtor Kari Myroniuk. “This office makes it easier to work together, stay focused, and create a welcoming experience from the moment someone walks through the door.”
That sense of ease and intention is the goal in every project I take on as a Sarasota interior designer, whether it’s a professional setting or a private home. Thoughtful design isn’t only about how an office or home looks. It’s about how it functions for the people living and working within it every day.
